Our team members

Aaron, Former Care Worker, now Quality & Compliance Officer
‘I've been working here for 12 years now and I love it. I love the people we look after and I love standing shoulder to shoulder with my colleagues to provide the best quality of care we can.’

Natasha, Former Executive Assistant, now Special Projects Manager
‘I joined Cornerstone as an Executive Assistant but quickly took the opportunity to get involved with all areas of the company. The management team welcomed my enthusiasm, saw my potential and I’m now a Special Projects Manager coordinating the opening of new services!’

Dannielle Patterson, Senior Healthcare Assistant
‘I started working for Cornerstone Healthcare in 2016 as a Healthcare Assistant, with a lot of support and hard work I am now a Senior Healthcare Assistant. I support the Nurses on duty with shift planning, supporting Health Care Assistants and carry out assessments of residents' care needs, as well as caring for our residents. No two days are the same and I never know what to expect but I love that I can make a difference to our residents' lives and make them smile.’

Florina Gheorghe, Senior Nurse
‘I love working in South Africa Lodge. I really get a chance to get to know and understand our residents and their families, many of whom live with us for several years. Working here has enabled me to develop both personally and professionally. I have learnt so much about a wide variety of mental health and neurodegenerative conditions and have been able to put it all to practical use. Working in a nursing home can be viewed as boring but it's definitely not boring here. I honestly wouldn't want to work anywhere else.’

Chantzine Shafiie, Activities Lead
‘As Activities Lead I need to understand what our residents like and don't like, what hobbies they had before coming to live with us and what they are able to do physically. I also need to be aware of what activities can trigger certain behaviours and I make sure my team and I know how to manage them. Our residents have a wide variety of interests and I love planning activities to keep their bodies and minds active as well as organising therapeutic activities to help with their wellbeing. I am supported by a great team and we are always encouraged to make suggestions on how we can improve our services. I don't feel like I'm ‘just doing a job’, I really love coming to work here.’
