Located in the quiet village of Curdridge, near Botley, our focus is solely on caring for people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological, physical and mental health needs.
Specialist facilities and activities
Kitnocks House is divided into four wings, each of which is managed by a Senior Nurse who leads a team of nurses and care workers. As well as mixed wings, Kitnocks House has both male-only and female-only wings. Our high staff to resident ratio ensures that the most complex of needs are readily met.
En-suite bedrooms coupled with spacious living and dining areas have been designed with neurological research in mind.
All residents have individual rooms and the décor and fittings have been designed with dementia research in mind. The home is built around an easily accessible and safe central garden that allows for strolling and sitting out. With support from staff, some parts of the garden are maintained by residents.
Located in the quiet village of Curdridge near Botley in Hampshire, just 4 miles from exit 7 on the M27. Kitnocks House offers access to the local community as well as local shops and facilities.
Our dedicated activities team are specially trained to provide activities that stimulate and increase the quality of life for our residents. Activities are tailored to each resident taking into account hobbies and interests and include arts and crafts, cake decorating and board games along with performances from local artists and visits from children from our local schools. We always encourage loved ones to join in the fun!

Our residents primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Huntington’s Disease, MND, Parkinson’s or a form of Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.
Our placements rarely breakdown – when a resident is admitted they will be with us for the rest of their lives, avoiding distressing and unnecessary relocation to another home

We’re delighted that Kitnocks House has been awarded a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The CQC are the independent regulator of health and social care in England.
A “Good” rating means we are meeting all expectations set by the CQC and our service is performing well. We are constantly striving to improve our service to residents and welcome feedback to help us provide the best possible care.
Whilst the CQC is not routinely inspecting services during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are delighted to receive a positive summary record for Kitnocks House.

The team at Kitnocks House has nursing staff on 24 hour duty, offering continuity of care to all residents. Our high staffing ratio means that even the most complex of needs can be readily met. We prioritise building relationships between staff and residents as well as their family and friends, so everybody is made to feel at home.
We have dedicated occupational therapy and activity coordinators within the team so that our residents benefit from interesting and meaningful activities tailored to their abilities. Life and fun shouldn’t be put on hold because nursing care is required!
At Kitnocks House the whole team works together to provide great service and really positive experiences for all our residents. Everyone, from the general manager, clinical manager and departmental managers through to ancillary staff are crucial to the day to day running of the home.
